Watch for many pheasants that could be on the road while heading into the village of Rockyford, service centre for a large agricultural area. The name comes from a rocky crossing over the narrow, deep Serviceberry Creek, called a rocky ford. The emblem of the pheasant reflects the bird and wildlife habitats that are treasured by the residents.
Dust off your boots and hang onto your hat because the Rockyford Lions Club annually hosts a FCA rodeo known as "the biggest little show in Alberta" each July. Walk down mainstreet where scenes from Brokeback Mountain were filmed.
The Rockyford Rodeo is a must see.
